If you are looking for a laptop with webcam technology built into it, you will not have to search very far.  Recently, many laptops are manufactured this way so that the consumer will not have to buy the webcam separately.

Laptops with webcams built in as one piece are very convenient and easy to take along on business trips and other travels.  Because the webcam is attached, you will not have to take an extra piece of equipment along, which means less wires and less hassle.  By simply turning your laptop on, you will be able to share your experiences or deliver a presentation at a business meeting with others, no matter where you are.  If you are on vacation and you want to say hello to the folks at home, a laptop computer with webcam built in will easily do the trick.

The reviews of laptops with webcam attached show that there is a down side to this convenience.   The attached webcam does not focus as well as a free standing device, and the picture quality may not be as clear.  While a good quality free standing webcam can be turned and swiveled to the perfect angle, the attached one is stationary and cannot be moved.   Some models offer duel lenses, which allow you to take pictures from both the front and the back of the computer.

There are many brands and models that offer the laptop with webcam built in design.  The Acer laptop with webcam has earned a very positive reputation.  Although Acer is relatively new to the laptop scene, they are known to produce high quality computers that are both reasonably priced and do their job well.  The HP laptop with webcam is known to shoot high quality photos even in poor lighting.  The screen is movable so you can try to focus the shot as much as possible.  When researching laptop computers with webcam attached, be sure to look for the quality if the microphone and the sound system.

There are many online websites that explain and compare different brands and models of webcams, but not many compare the quality of built in webcams versus free standing ones.  Perhaps this is because it is generally a given that free standing webcams offer a clearer more focused picture,  but cannot compare to the convenience of having a webcam built into the computer itself.
